Recently, we’ve heard from some families that the information we send about students before the program could use a bit more detail. So, we wanted to take a moment to explain what we’re doing to give you as much helpful insight as possible, and also share what’s within our control and what’s not.

The "Self-Introduction" Form

Every student who applies to our homestay program fills out a "self-introduction" form. Here’s what we ask for:

1. Basic Information: full name, age, gender, school, etc.
2. Personal interests: favorite activities, hobbies, dream job, etc.
3. Health and Dietary Details: allergies, food preferences, chronic conditions, mental diseases, etc.

The form is usually filled out in English by the student’s parents if they’re under 18, or by the students themselves if they’re adults. We don’t change or edit any of the answers. Everything comes directly from the student or their parents.

What HelloWorld Can vs. Cannot Do

Can Do:

• Get Clarifications: If there’s something in the form you’re unsure about, we can reach out to the student’s parents to get more info. (Except for special school programs, where direct contact may not be possible. )

Cannot Do:

• Catch Everything: Sometimes, parents might leave out details—either because they don’t think they’re important or they just don’t know, like an undisclosed allergy or condition.
